Kuala Lumpur, 27 November 2020 – Boustead Holdings Berhad (“Boustead” or the “Group”) today announced the appointment of Dato’ Sri Mohammed Shazalli Ramly as its Group Managing Director, effective 1 December 2020.
Dato’ Sri Mohammed Shazalli, has had an illustrious career with over 30 years of professional experience in various industries namely Telecommunications, Media & Broadcasting, as well as Consumer Marketing. He is highly regarded in the industry as a turnaround specialist with strengths in Corporate Transformation, Revenue Generation, Digitisation, Marketing and Distribution, as well as Commercial & Operational Excellence, among others.
He previously served as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Telekom Malaysia Berhad, after his stint as Regional CEO and Corporate Executive Vice President of Axiata Group Berhad. Dato’ Sri Mohammed Shazalli served as the CEO of Celcom Axiata Berhad from 2005 to 2016, during which Celcom achieved a record-breaking 31 quarters of uninterrupted consecutive growth with double-digit growth in revenue, EBITDA and net profit. Prior to that, he was the CEO of NTV7. Dato’ Sri Mohammed Shazalli started his career with the Lever Brothers (Unilever) and British American Tobacco Company.
Dato’ Sri Mohammed Shazalli also brings with him an extensive directorship experience, where he previously sat on the Boards of several prominent organisations such as Malaysia Airline System Berhad (MAS) and Proton Holdings Berhad’s Special Task Force. Dato’ Sri Mohammed Shazalli holds a Master of Business Administration from St. Louis University, Missouri, USA and Bachelor of Science (Marketing) from Indiana University, Indiana, USA.
