KUALA LUMPUR, August 21, 2020 – Boustead Holdings Berhad (Boustead) is pleased to announce two new appointments to the Company’s Board of Directors, effective 21 August 2020, comprising:

1. Tan Sri Abu Bakar Abdullah as Independent Non-Executive Director
2. Dato’ Hajjah Zurainah Musa as Non-Independent Non-Executive Director

Tan Sri Abu Bakar Abdullah, aged 65, brings with him over 30 years of experience in administration and management from the public sector. Prior to his service as the Secretary General of the Ministry of Defence in 2007, Tan Sri Abu Bakar has held various key positions in various ministries including Deputy Secretary General in the Federal Territories Ministry, Secretary of Federal Territories Development and Klang Valley Planning in the Prime Minister’s Department, as well as Principal Assistant Secretary of the Armed Forces Council, among other posts. Tan Sri Abu Bakar holds a Master of Arts in International Studies from the University of Denver, United States; as well as a Bachelor of Arts (Hons.) in History from the University of Malaya, Malaysia.

Dato’ Hajjah Zurainah Musa, aged 58, started her illustrious career in 1983 and has since held various senior management positions in organisations based in Malaysia, Australia, United States of America, Indonesia as well as in the Middle East. She is highly experienced in the fields of Human Resources Management and Development as well as Human Relationship Management. Dato’ Hajjah Zurainah currently sits on the Board of several companies namely Berjaya Corporation Berhad, UZMA Berhad, and Tioman Island Resort Berhad. She holds a Master in Business Administration from Berjaya University College of Hospitality, Malaysia; a Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management from University of Newcastle, Australia; as well as other qualifications in the fields of Occupational Health & Safety, and Secretarial Science.
